About the Role
The NICU Nurse Manager oversees 24‑hour clinical operations for a 60‑bed Level I–IV NICU, managing staffing, budgeting, HR, and quality initiatives. This position calls for a strategic, big‑picture thinker who can drive program development — including transport services and transition‑to‑home initiatives — while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 60+ FTEs, including RNs, PCTs, Lactation Techs, and support staff
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality neonatal care across all acuity levels
  • Develop and implement staffing plans aligned with patient needs and productivity goals
  • Partner with educators and clinical leaders to advance staff development and patient outcomes
  • Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • BSN required with an ANCC‑approved clinical or leadership certification (e.g., NEA‑BC, CENP, EFM); candidates without certification will have two years to complete one upon hire
  • MSN preferred
  • 5+ years of NICU experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven success managing complex neonatal operations and driving quality initiatives
